Westside High School Digital Media and Design Program

Westside High School's Digital Media and Design Program empowers students to explore the intersection of creativity, technology, and communication. Designed for aspiring artists, designers, and content creators, the program provides a strong foundation in visual storytelling, graphic design, and multimedia production.

Students learn to use industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.) while developing skills in areas like digital illustration, branding, photography, video editing, motion graphics, UX/UI design, and animation. The curriculum blends artistic principles with technical training, emphasizing both creative expression and real-world application.

Through hands-on projects and collaborative assignments, students build a professional portfolio that showcases their abilities across multiple design disciplines. Projects may include logo development, promotional videos, social media content, digital marketing campaigns, and interactive media.

The program also highlights design thinking, visual literacy, and effective communication, preparing students for careers in graphic design, marketing, film and media production, web design, and other creative industries. Opportunities for internships, competitions, and dual-credit college courses further enhance the learning experience.

Graduates leave the program with technical proficiency, creative confidence, and the skills needed to pursue post-secondary education or entry-level positions in the fast-growing digital media and design field.
