Instructions for Starting a School Club
Verify on the Club Directory that the club you want to start does not already exist or is similar to an existing club. All clubs must be in the interest of benefitting the student population.
Obtain a sponsor for your group who is committed to being at all club meetings. A CVHS employee (teacher or other school official) must be responsible for extracurricular student activities.
Set up a structure for your club. By-laws or a constitution must accompany the application. The by-laws or constitution must contain the club objectives, purpose, and a mission statement. Clubs will elect officers and decide who will be responsible for what role or action. All funds will need to be submitted to the school finance clerk to be deposited in the club fund. All clubs must conduct themselves in an appropriate and ethical manner for the good of their members and the school.
The following form/application will need to be completed to begin the process of starting a new club. Once completed, the form/application is submitted to Mr. Ngo and Ms. Matsu for final approval. The sponsor will be notified of the status of the request.
