The link above leads to a website that generates rhythm exercises. This website will be used during rehearsals to improve your ability read and perform simple and complex rhythms.

If you are able to pass this test, you will be allowed to opt out of a variety of quizzes and assignments related to music literacy during class.
Sight Reading is the ability to read a line of music, and be able to perform it correctly the first time. Choir members that work hard to improve their sight reading ability will have a higher chance of being selected for honors ensembles. Sight Reading ability will also be a consideration when deciding your placement in a high school choir.
Houston choir members will have access to a Sight Reading Factory account. This website can be used for individual practice. The site generates exercises that can be tailored to your current ability level. Students will also be expected to complete assignments using this website to assess their ability, so that their progress can be tracked.
