Conventions of Composition Rule 22
Rule: Format your essay as your teacher has directed. Unless instructed otherwise by your teacher, follow these parameters:
Use an 11- or 12-point legible font,
Double space,
Left justify,
Retain one-inch margins,
Include your name, the due date, and the course at the top of the first page,
Indent the first line in each new paragraph; do not create an extra blank line between paragraphs,
Avoid extra gaps in spacing between words or after sentences, but do leave one space after the punctuation mark that ends each sentence,
Do not include the prompt in your final/submitted draft.
