Conventions of Composition Rule 214

Rule: Each paragraph should handle one, unified topic or one person’s speech. Long or unwieldy paragraphs should be divided into shorter paragraphs. Each paragraph should begin with an indented line. Since you are already double-spacing your essays, you do not need to put an additional line of blank space between paragraphs. When quoting dialogue, you may not put more than one speaker's words into each paragraph.
