Award Descriptions
Most Improved: This student in general has had to work a little harder than the rest to catch up to their peers either because they started late, didn’t practice, didn’t understand at first, or whatever the reason may be. This award is presented to a student who has shown an outstanding amount of growth throughout the year in band and is elected by their peers and director.
Stingray Award: Elected by their band/orchestra peers, this award is presented to a student who demonstrates respect, responsibility, dedication, loyalty, and discipline in the band program. The student practices outside of class time, comes prepared for rehearsals, and is willing to lend a helping hand even without being asked. The student tries their very best in band/orchestra as well as in other classroom settings.
Director's Award: This award is like the Stingray Award but is chosen by the director.
