Students experimented with making Kinetic sand today. They used sand, cornstarch, food colouring and silicone. They then mixed it altogether. Their next step is to see what they can build and create from the material.
This is the beginnings of the Year 10's prototype of a catapult. The plan is to design this in a bigger format with stronger materials.

We have a couple of different volcanoes being made using different different supplies and different chemicals to make them explode!
The Kinetic Sand group finally got three products made - each of them were of different consistency. The red one in the right hand corner was more like a gloop and didn't hold together as well as they wanted.
