Are you experiencing homelessness? What is McKinney-Vento? The McKinney-Vento Act defines homeless children as "individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence." If your family lives in any of the following situations-- ● motel or campground due to lack of alternative accommodations ● in a car, park, abandoned building, bus station ● doubled up with other people due to loss of housing or economic hardship Due to these circumstances your child(ren) may qualify for certain rights and protections under the federal McKinney-Vento Act.
