The KMEA Second District All-District Band allows the top performers in our district to come together for an intense few days of music preparation and performance. Auditions are typically held in November and the rehearsals and performance are in January. See our District Events page for specifics.
2023 All District digital program
Our district features four outstanding ensembles: A 6th through 8th grade All-District Middle School Band, a 9th-10th Grade High School All-District Band, and an 11th-12th Grade High School All Distict Band. Students receive audition music early in the year. The district provides audition excerpts for the 6th-8th and the 9th-10th grade bands. The 11th-12th grade audtion music, which is also the audition music for All-State Band, will be provided by the band director at your school.
Students audition in November at TBA and TBA in Owensboro, KY. The audition of any 11th-12th grade student will count as an audition for both All-District Band and All-State Band - round 1. Second round All-State auditions occur in December at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown, KY. Students for all of our All-District Bands are chosen based on audition results and our district's instrumentation needs for each of these ensembles.
Middle School Auditions November 9th at Owensboro Middle School.
