HHS maker space activities are directly supervised by Coach Halas, with assistance as needed from other members of the Department of Innovation. Coach Halas has lived in Hopewell and worked at the high school since 2013. In addition to running the maker space, he as taught English, worked as an instructional coach and is the head coach of the Hopewell's wrestling and cross country teams. He's also the announcer for the Blue Devils at varsity football games.

• Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education of English from Northern Michigan University.

• Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the American College or Education.

• Career Diploma in furniture and cabinet making from Penn Foster Career School.
