HHS Maker Space

Welcome

The Department of Innovation has invested various resources to make the HHS Maker Space a reality. In 2019, we were an Infy Maker Award Winner, which provided a grant to invest more funds into the space. Today, teachers who want their students to prototype, build, craft, and make physical projects and products can do so using the HHS maker space. While the space is continuing to evolve with new equipment and possibilities, this site will help students and teachers learn about opportunities and see examples for how the HHS maker space can best serve their classroom needs. Using the navigation bar at the top of the screen, you can learn about the tools/equipment available, see a gallery of student work done in our maker space, and learn about the faculty member who runs it.

RESERVING THE HHS MAKER SPACE

If you are a teacher who has a project in mind, feel free to arrange a meeting with Coach Halas and reserve a date/time by submitting this form. Coach Halas can help you with anything from brainstorming and tuning your project, to co-teaching lessons, to simply helping with student supervision as you use the space. The earlier you submit your form in the planning stages, the more help you can get, and the more time there will be to find resources for you. You do NOT need to be an expert yourself in any making category in order to explore it through student work.

NOTE: Coach Halas is teaching a class during first block this semester, so maker space availability and assistance during that block is still possible, but highly limited.
