Table Saws
Table saws are large versatile saws used for rip (long) cuts in solid lumber and for cutting sheet goods like plywood down to size. Sleds, jigs and attachments can be used to make all kinds of cuts on a variety of wood types. Our table saw is outfitted with a sliding miter gauge for safely making wide cross cuts. The range, size and expense of table saws make them the focal point of most wood shops and maker spaces. The table saw in the HHS maker space has a cast iron top to ensure smooth even cuts. It is stationary and uses 480 volts of electricity to power its 5 horsepower motor. See the video below for a breakdown on table saw basics and keep scrolling for more on the feature that makes ours the safest table saw on earth.
