Welcome to your home of the
HOPE HOUSE OLYMPICS for 2021!!
This is a competition that will run through PE classes and during Thursday Street PE for 5 weeks. You are welcome to compete in as many activities as you would like to add to your house points!! Be careful to read the instructions below to ensure you participate to the best of your ability following a few Olympic rules. There is a combination of novelty and more serious events for ALL ages. You are encouraged to participate with your family and your close neighbours as restrictions and family rules allow.
Each week there will be two novelty events posted and a sport focus as you can see from the outline above. For every event and novelty event you complete you will earn 5 points for your team. There will also be bonus points to earn for your house as seen below.
Your PE Teacher will post the list of activities in your PE Google Classroom on a recording sheet called "OLYMPIC BINGO," but you can also check this site each week also.
Additional Bonus Points - To be completed in your own time. Each of the activities below are worth 10 points for your team.
Additional points will be given to any student who creates their own House Home Olympic Sport
Design a mascot for the 2024 Paris Olympics
Write a letter of encouragement to an Olympian you admire outlining the attributes you appreciate
Create a mini movie compilation of your families HOPE HOUSE OLYMPICS
Create a mini movie outlining the history of the Olympic Games and positive outcomes hoped to be achieved
Write a team chant/song for your HOUSE at HOPE
Complete an Olympic themed crossword OR word find
Make an Athletes meal and serve to your family

Make sure you do this outside so you don't break anything precious inside!
All you need for this is a table tennis ball, two books and a dining room table!
Have a go at this with a family member for some fun!
You don't have to sniff dirty socks, but you do need to be wearing socks and attempt to take off one sock of your opponent.
NO Hurting, hitting or kicking!!
You MUST stay on the ground!

All you need is some scrunched up paper balls (5-10) and a bucket or basket! GO!
THREE LEGGED RACE!
A scarf to loosely tie around two legs and a partner is all you need to have some fun!
How far can you go?
Challenge your parents or have a go with one of them!
AN alternate activity to three legged race if no one in your family can participate with you is Cup stacking. You will need 10 plastic cups.
You can use plastic cups or paper cups! You will need 10 cups of the same size for this activity.

WEEK 2 HOPE HOUSE OLYMPICS
Have a go!! If it is too tricky to start with a shoe, try a hat or a small towel over your foot. If you can do it with any of these items you can get the 5 points! Please take a photo and share in your PE Google Classroom.
Have a go with table tennis ball if you have one or socks if you don't. Don't forget to ask Mum, Dad or your carer for permission to use the bowls!!

WEEK 1 HOPE HOUSE OLYMPICS
The first novelty is above!! Do your best to make a cornhole board. It may be a small bin with a chalk rectangle drawn around it! Challenge your friends first to 11 points. 3 points for IN the hole, 1 point for in the rectangle. If opposition also gets a plane in the hole it cancels the score of the opposing team.
The second novelty event requires you to eat an entire banana with NO hands whilst holding a plank position between every bite! You will need a banana for every participant. Make it a race!! Who in your family can do it the fastest!?
