Innovation Zone

This is the Innovation Zone!!!!

The Innovation Zone is a place where we do Engineering, Science and Coding Challenges. STEAM Ambassadors & the Student Leadership Team use this room for club meetings. There is no real teacher in this room because everybody uses it. One of the things we use are the Rig-A-Ma-Jigs. We use plastic nuts and bolts, wooden bars, wheels, etc. to work together and tackle engineering challenges. You might build things like cars, chairs and houses!

Another thing we have in the I.Z. is the Lego Wall. This is a wall that you can stick Lego's on to build things. You could possibly build a house and stick the side of it to the wall so it stands and won't slide around! Third graders have also used the Lego Wall for math concepts like symmetry, multiplication, and fractions.

We also have a large marble run area. This is a magnetic wall where there are foam pieces with glued on magnets attached to them which allows them to stick on the magnet wall and you can make a roller coaster for the marbles!

In the Innovation Zone we code tons of different things using different types of coding apps like Blockly. We use Blockly to code Dash and Dot! With other robots, we use manual coding like BeeBot where you press an arrow and BeeBot will go a certain distance that way! Your teachers will show you how you can use coding in real life. We sometimes do rotations and they can be REALLY fun but educational at the same time! I think you will enjoy working in the Innovation Zone!
