December 2020Christmas is more than just waking up to a bunch of presents under the Christmas tree. It’s not all about all the gifts you receive on the day. December 25th was found to be the day of Jesus’s birthday. It’s not a proven fact to be his birthday, but they just decided to have that day be the day that he would be celebrated. There are also many different cultures that Christmas is celebrated differently.
On the website, I read What Is the Meaning of Christmas? It says, “Christmas is a time of spiritual reflection on the important foundations of the Christian faith. It’s also a celebration. It’s when Christians celebrate God’s love for the world through the birth of the Christ child: Jesus.” People are different with beliefs, religions, and even the thing that they believe in. Christmas can have many different meanings to people.
Now I ask myself, “What does Christmas truly mean to you?” The gifts are always great to receive and I’m very thankful for the gifts I get. Honestly, Christmas is all about being with your family and being happy that I am alive to spend another year with my family and all smiling at the things we have now and what we have received.
I asked my mom this same question. She really thought about it. She said, “It means there is hope and joy for a new season ahead through the life of Jesus Christ himself.”
In conclusion, Christmas can have many different meanings to people. Not all believe it’s about celebrating the birth of Jesus. Not everyone believes that it is about being with your family. On the website What Is the Meaning of Christmas? it says “Christmas is one of the most important Christian and cultural holidays of the year, but what is the true meaning of Christmas?”
