Advanced Placement (AP) Testing

Class

AP United States Government & Politics

AP Chemistry

AP United States History

Testing Date

Monday May 6 - 8am

Monday May 6 - 12pm

Friday May 10 - 8am

Currently, we offer three AP classes: AP Government & Politics , AP U.S. History (APUSH), and AP Chemistry. All three classes are a full year in length with the AP exam occurring in May.

If a student decides to take an AP class online, in order to receive the weighted grade and get the AP classification on their transcripts, students must take the AP Exam at the end of the school year. Those who take the in person AP classes do not have to take the test to get the weighted grade. If you want to take the test you must let us know by the end of October or else a late fee will be added to the total price of the test.

A weighted grade means that they get an extra point added to their grade, i.e., if a student gets a 'B' it is classified as an 'A' in their GPA.

Placement Tests

This button will take you to the SCC website where you can get the number to call a testing site and schedule your placement test.

Some colleges and universities may require you to take a placement test in order to get signed up for the correct classes. SCC requires students that want to take Dual Credit Statistics to take the ALEKS test and for those that want to take Dual Credit Composition I & II need to take the Accuplacer Writing Test. These tests has to be taken at one of the three SCC testing sites and need to be completed BEFORE you take the class at HTC.
