The Sign of the Cross is a prayer. Each time that we make the Sign of the Cross and pray the words we give praise to the three Persons of the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Prayer - Karakia is talking with God and spending time with God. When we spend time with our friends we talk to each other, we listen to each other and we spend time together. Prayer is part of a loving friendship with God - Te Atua.
