Seventh Grade
With some siblings they may not spend a lot of time with each other. I make sure at least once I spend time with my brother. He's one of the people I can always trust. Even if he is a 2nd grader I still count him as my best friend. Being like Jesus means spending time with those you love. It means making time for family or friends.
I think most of us has forgotten a book at school. It's good to help one another. I help sometimes by sending a picture of a certain page since they forgot their book or they grabbed the wrong book. When I forget, they do the same too. We help each other out when we need it. Jesus wants us to help each other and this is an example of how we can take care of others. The picture with this reflection is an old text conversations where a classmate grabbed the wrong book.
We all struggle sometimes. Just helping someone with math homework makes me feel good. We're all here to help each other out. We learn from each other as well. Jesus would want us to care for one another. As one of the great commandments say, "We shall love our neighbor as ourselves".
Sixth Grade
(Make a Wish foundation has really made a change. This foundation grants wishes to sick kids)
When we arrived in Florida we stayed in a place called Give Kids the World Village. We stayed there for about a week. I saw that there were volunteers. Those people really changed our experience there. They made our trip more magical and fun.
I hope that one day I can go back to Give Kids the World village because I want to volunteer there. I want to make other families feel happy. I want to make a magical experience for them too. My family thinks this is a good idea as well. Volunteering is something that Jesus would do. Jesus wants other people to be happy. By seeing all the smiles on everyone's face gives me an amazing feeling. One day, I hope to make other people happy. One thing I did was donate to Make a Wish Foundation in the Philippines so that other kids like my brother can experience their wish.
A few years ago my brother had a dance performance in preschool. He was performing on grandparent's day. I saw him at home practicing. I knew he was working really hard to make a good performance. When the day of him performing he partner wasn't there. He had no one to dance with. I wasn't aware until a teacher told me. They asked me if I could dance with him. Yes, it can be embarrassing but if I have to go up and dance with my brother to make him happy I would do it. I would go up and embarrass myself for my brother to be happy. A good thing for me was that I watching my brother practice and I was able to follow the moves correctly. When I accepted the offer I thought it would be embarrassing but just the thought of him being happy to dance with someone made me forget about being in front of a crowd.
