The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) are targeted for K-12 education and list science content standards that set expectations for what students should be able to perform. NGSS follows a 3D approach and provides examples of lesson plans and units, example rubrics and criteria, and evidence statements. NGSS is flexible in designing classroom learning experiences and is making the shift from separate subject areas to a more integrative, design based approach.
