Meet one of our current teachers, who not so long ago, was in the same boat as you. Jeremy moved to Holbrook from out-of-state to tackle his first year of teaching.
Jeremy graduated Corban College in 2013 certified to teach math and business. For two years he sought opportunities to teach in Oregon and found the market over-saturated. "I'd go to the teacher job fairs and see the long lines and teachers waiting sometimes for hours to be seen by recruiters." It was at a job fair that he called his wife, then girlfriend, Gretchen and asked if she'd be willing to move out of state. After speaking with Holbrook Unified School District recruiters he applied to teach business at Holbrook High School. "I interviewed over Skype and afterwards they asked me if I'd be willing to fly out and check out the town and schools." Jeremy purchased tickets and flew to Flagstaff and made the short drive to Holbrook. "I was sold on the people, everyone was so nice and made me feel so at home." Jeremy continues to teach Business as well as coach Basketball and Golf.
