Biography of General David Wooster

In May, 2023, a new full biography of David Wooster was completed as my doctoral dissertation. At 377 pages, the full work is being proposed as a published book. I hope to offer more information soon on that. The link to the on-line dissertation can be found below:

Undivided Loyalty and Unwavering Leadership: The Life and Times of David Wooster (1710-1777)

This essay covers the life of Major-General David Wooster from his birth in 1710 in Connecticut to his death after the battle of Ridgeville, Connecticut in 1777. David Wooster lived life to the fullest; a life of loyalty and leadership. Wooster was involved in every military action possible from the 1730's to the 1770's.

His story is all but lost today. In 1778 and again in 1781 Connecticut was attacked by the British and many homes were destroyed. Wooster's was pillaged and his personal possessions were burned. Through years of research, Wooster's story is pieced together, told from his letters and his correspondence saved by those with whom he corresponded - not from others who held a political grudge against him. Over 158 separate letters and documents here help to retell the story of a great American hero, Major-General David Wooster.

The original eighty page biography was expanded to one hundred and forty pages after further research uncovered more documents that added to his story. This was added to in  July, 2020. The new dissertation is three-hundred and seventy-seven pages in length and contains many unpublished primary sources documents. This biography of General Wooster has also been copyrighted with the Library of Congress.
