MEET MRS.KATHOL
Hi!!! I am Mrs.(Katrina) Kathol, and I am the Preschool teacher at Hartington-Newcastle Public Schools.
Growing up I was a military brat and moved around A LOT. I have lived in many places including Germany, but Nebraska is where I have always called home.
I graduated high school in 2004 from Plattsmouth High School, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. I knew I wanted to be a teacher but didn't want to leave Nebraska, so Wayne State College was my obvious choice. In 2008, I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education.
I was blessed to be hired as a Kindergarten teacher at Douglas County West Community Schools, in Valley, Nebraska. I taught there for 5 years. At that time, I attended graduate school at UNO. I graduated with my master's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2012.
In 2013, I married my husband, Tyler Kathol, and I moved to Hartington to enjoy the small town life. We LOVE fishing, hunting, camping, four wheeling, gardening...well...anything outdoors.
I taught at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School from 2013-2017. There I taught third grade for three years and first grade for one year.
In 2017 I got my dream job here in Hartington! I was so excited to be teaching in the town that I live in, and where we will send our children to. I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Third Grade, and NOW...Preschool. I am starting my 15th year of teaching!! My passion is definitely for younger children, and I have always wanted to teach Preschool, so I am beyond excited!
We have two little girls, Kaylin (8 years old), and Ellie (5 years old). They share the same birthday on September 17th! They are incredible little girls with a lot of spunk! We also have a son, Braxton (3 years old). He loves playing with balls, four wheeler rides, and anything with wheels. These three kids keep me going and have taught me a lot about myself and young children. They enjoy the outdoors along with us and make all of our adventures more exciting than we planned them to be!
