Elmo Kallner began his tenure with the Hamilton Local Schools in 1966. He retired on December 31, 1993, after 27 years with the district as a biology teacher, guidance counselor, principal, and concluded his time at Hamilton Local as superintendent.
He served as Hamilton Central Elementary School's principal for six years, Hamilton Middle School's assistant principal and principal for six years, and as Hamilton Local School's superintendent for 11 years from 1982-1993.
Hamilton Township High School plays host annually to the Kallner Invitational Track and Field Meet, which is named in his honor.
Prior to his arrival to Hamilton Local, Mr. Kallner worked in the Williamsburg Local, Jackson City, and Reynoldsburg City School Districts.
He graduated from Morehead State University in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, obtained his Master of Arts degree from Xavier University, and has done post graduate work at The Ohio State University.
He is the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Educational Council.
Elmo and Marjorie Kallner married in 1961 and have three children and eight grandchildren. He is the embodiment of the popular district phrase, "Once A Ranger, Always A Ranger!"
