The project portion of FLL competitions is the section that requires the most work and time. Teams must research about problems concerning the year's theme, which can range from outer space, to staying active. After the teams research, they must find out a unique and innovative solution to the problem that they chose, or improve on what is already in use. They may find and talk to experts to be able to find pros and cons of their project. Teams will present their projects to judges and answer questions to help the judges understand more about their idea. The more thought out the project is, the higher you get ranked.
Every year we are given a theme for our robotics team to base our project. This year for the theme, we are focusing on technology, art and how to share our hobbies using it. We begin by identifying our problem to better understand what we are facing. This includes research, exploration, and development. Next, we share and get expert opinions on our project. After improvements have been made, we make a prototype. Our prototype is currently an app for beginner campers where they will be able to hire experts to go camping with them and help them enjoy the experience. This project is very innovative because we are providing all the necessary knowledge needed to go camping. For example we have a Camping Checklist, Camping Locations, Intagrammable Locations, Camping Experts, Expert Chatting, Expert Hiring.
