Chamber Winds

The Hingham High School Chamber Winds is an advanced ensemble open to current or incoming Concert Band/Wind Ensemble students in grades 9-12 by audition only. The band program's smallest ensemble, Chamber Winds holds weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30pm. Though its members perform together in the Winter Concert, the ensemble is designed to be broken into chamber groups in preparation for its annual Spring Concert (flute trio, saxophone quartet, brass ensemble, etc.) This intimate, largely student-run rehearsal and performance experience is essential to the development of our most advanced student-musicians, and the repertoire studied is often of a collegiate or professional level. Chamber Winds performs twice per year and has the opportunity to travel on regional tours with the chorus and orchestra.

Note: Members of the HHS Chamber Winds are eligible to audition for annual MMEA and SEMSBA music festivals. Members must also be enrolled in either Concert Band or Wind Ensemble.
