About the Program

Food Technology is the science that combines techniques involved in the production, processing, preserving, quality control, and engineering of foodstuffs. It also comprises research, innovation, development, and marketing of new products. Food Technology has revolutionized the food habits of the people in our country by offering cooked and packaged foods in attractive forms. Consumption of processed foods is noticeable across almost all sections of the population. And so, the market for processed foods is growing very fast.
The program introduces students to the basic principles underlying food processing, unit operations, preservation techniques, packaging methods, and so on.
Gives candidates a thorough basic understanding of production processes involved in food industries.
It enables them to design novel processing approaches and undertake product development.
Exposes students to a gamut of quality control procedures like HACCP, TACCP, VACCP and ISO auditings.
