Key camp information for Year 9 Camp Leaders 2026. This will be a very busy and active 2 weeks for the Outdoor Education Department so PLEASE be organised and know where you need to be and what you need to bring. Any questions - please see your teachers nice and early. What a great opportunity to show our school values and serve our younger Year 9 students.
*Appologies for the late notice with groups and camp information. It has been a very challenging time weather wise with a lot of disruption and reschedulling. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Please ensure you are organised and have communicated with your teachers in advance. It is also good to see if there is any work you may need to catch up on or do prior so you don't start the year by getting behind. This is really helpful and shows a committment to your learning.
General gear required
Students will need a range of gear that is suitable for the outdoors in all weather conditions. You may own some of this already which is awesome. If you do not, it may be preferable to buy your own common essential items or you could consider borrowing gear for the year.
Key items include;
Source some wet weather clothes – fully waterproof raincoat and over trousers.
Have a good pair of sturdy shoes or tramping boots.
Get warm clothes – polypropylenes, woollen hats, gloves and socks, fleece jerseys and warm trousers.
*Hillmorton has an excellent supply of outdoor gear - if you do not have any of the above equipment please ask as we can supply most gear if required.
We go offsite every week. No appropriate gear = no practical
