Session 1 -

With your child, listen to the teacher reading the story and asking some questions.

Your child's teacher will ask questions throughout the story and ask some more once it's finished. You can pause at anytime to allow your child to answer the question in a full sentence

e.g. Teacher: What did the dog do?

Child: jump

Parent: In a full sentence please.

Child: The dog jumped over the hedge.

You should correct your child if they answer the question incorrectly. This should be done in a positive way e.g. That's a great try, but I think...

Session 2 - Makaton Sign

With your child, have a go at signing 'superhero'.

Session 3 - Story telling

Encourage your child to tell their own superhero story.

Write it down for them and encourage your child to draw a picture to accompany their story.

Encourage your child to think about different characters and their super powers!
