Videos are a great way to reinforce phonics knowledge at home. Songs and rhymes work particularly well at this age. Please be mindful when searching on YouTube as some American videos can pronounce sounds slightly differently.

Starting on Monday 27th April, new phonics videos will be uploaded onto the YouTube channel called 'Letters and Sounds'. This is a Government Funded scheme. We use Read Write Inc. in school however, the pronunciation of the sounds doesn't change. So this is still useful. Letters and sounds uses the term 'tricky word' or 'sight' word instead of 'red word' like we do in school. Please click the orange image to the left to access the YouTube channel. New videos for Reception get uploaded everyday at 10 am.
