STUDIO RULES & CODE OF CONDUCT

At High Voltage Dance Company, we strive to provide a safe, respectful, positive, and distraction-free environment where every dancer has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. These rules apply to all dancers, parents, guardians, siblings, and guests while attending classes, rehearsals, performances, camps, clinics, workshops, and other HVDC events.
By participating in any HVDC program, you agree to follow the Studio Rules & Code of Conduct outlined below.

1. DRESS CODE & APPEARANCE
⋅ Dancers must wear the required class attire and appropriate dance shoes for each class.
⋅ Street shoes are not permitted on the dance floors.
⋅ Hair must be secured according to the current Class Attire Requirements before entering class.
⋅ Jewelry should be kept to a minimum and may be prohibited for certain classes for safety reasons.
⋅ Instructors may ask dancers to sit out if they are not dressed appropriately or are missing required footwear.

2. ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
⋅ Dancers should arrive on time and ready for class.
⋅ Please use the restroom and prepare all dance shoes and belongings before class begins whenever possible.
⋅ Parents or guardians must ensure dancers are picked up promptly after class.
⋅ If you will be more than five minutes late for pick-up, please notify the studio as soon as possible.
⋅ Dancers will only be released to a parent, guardian, or other authorized individual.

3. STUDIO SAFETY & SECURITY
⋅ For the safety of our dancers, studio doors may be locked shortly after classes begin.
⋅ The facility is monitored by indoor and outdoor security cameras.
⋅ Emergency exits must remain clear at all times.
⋅ Running, roughhousing, climbing on furniture, or unsafe behavior is not permitted anywhere inside or outside the studio.

4. CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
⋅ Dancers are expected to arrive prepared, attentive, and ready to learn.
⋅ Follow instructor directions promptly and respectfully.
⋅ Be kind, encouraging, and respectful toward fellow dancers and staff.
⋅ Disruptive behavior that interferes with instruction will not be permitted.
⋅ Repeated behavioral concerns may result in removal from class and/or further disciplinary action.

5. RESPECTFUL CONDUCT
Everyone at HVDC deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
⋅ Bullying, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, threats, or retaliation will not be tolerated.
⋅ Foul language, obscene gestures, disrespectful behavior, or inappropriate conversations are prohibited.
⋅ Students, parents, and guests are expected to treat instructors, staff, volunteers, and one another with courtesy and respect.
⋅ Families are expected to model positive sportsmanship at all studio events.

6. PARENT & GUEST EXPECTATIONS
⋅ Parents, siblings, and guests are not permitted inside studio classrooms unless invited by HVDC staff.
⋅ Please ensure your dancer is prepared before entering class.
⋅ Parents should avoid distracting dancers or instructors during class.
⋅ Concerns regarding classes, instructors, or studio operations should be directed to the studio through official communication channels rather than discussed during class time.

7. VIEWING CAMERAS
⋅ Classroom viewing cameras are provided as a courtesy for enrolled families.
⋅ Camera access is a privilege and may be modified, limited, or removed at any time at the discretion of HVDC.
⋅ Recording, photographing, or distributing camera footage is strictly prohibited without written permission from HVDC.

8. CELL PHONES & ELECTRONIC DEVICES
⋅ Cell phones, smart watches, tablets, and other electronic devices must be silenced during class.
⋅ Electronic devices may not be used during class unless specifically authorized by an instructor.
⋅ HVDC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged electronic devices.

9. FOOD & PERSONAL BELONGINGS
⋅ Food, snacks, candy, and gum are not permitted inside studio classrooms.
⋅ Water in a sealed container is encouraged.
⋅ Personal belongings should be stored neatly in designated areas.
⋅ Please label all dance shoes, dancewear, bags, and personal items with the dancer's name.
⋅ HVDC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.

10. STUDIO FACILITY
⋅ Help keep our studio clean by disposing of trash properly.
⋅ Respect studio equipment, furniture, flooring, mirrors, and all studio property.
⋅ Any intentional damage to studio property may result in repair or replacement charges.

11. SOCIAL MEDIA & DIGITAL CONDUCT
⋅ We encourage positive and respectful interactions both inside and outside the studio.
⋅ Negative, defamatory, harassing, or inappropriate comments regarding HVDC, its dancers, families, instructors, or staff may result in disciplinary action or dismissal from studio programs.
⋅ Confidential studio information should not be shared without permission.

12. REPORTING CONCERNS
⋅ Any safety concern, inappropriate behavior, bullying, discrimination, or policy violation should be reported to an HVDC owner or staff member as soon as possible.
⋅ We are committed to addressing concerns fairly, respectfully, and confidentially whenever possible.

13. FAILURE TO FOLLOW STUDIO RULES
⋅ Failure to comply with these Studio Rules & Code of Conduct may result in verbal warnings, parent conferences, temporary removal from class, suspension, or dismissal from High Voltage Dance Company.
⋅ The severity of the consequence will depend on the nature and frequency of the behavior.
⋅ High Voltage Dance Company reserves the right to determine appropriate disciplinary action on a case-by-case basis.
