This water bottle was part of a two person collaboration where both partners chose a body of water important to them in San Diego, and each partner would focus on either the more modern or ancient history of the water source. By clicking on the image you can view the design that would later be printed onto the bottle label. The calculation featured on the bottle is used to describe the reservoir's annual evaporation.
This poster was something I designed early in the semester. The background is a map showing my house and an arrow to the nearest water. On the poster are different graphs representing class data concerning different questions they were asked. Also displayed on this poster is a short story about acquiring a picture of my nearest water source.
This poster was created alongside my op-ed to support my claim that a more local fishing industry would be both beneficial to the economy and the environment. The poster shows the amount of fish that die yearly to fishing trash specifically left by the places we import from.
(opinion editorial)
I wrote this opinion editorial about possible looser regulations for our local fishing industry because I found that a lot of students wrote about tighter regulations for the fishing industry locally, despite most of our fish is imported. I summited to the newspaper however it was not chosen to be published.
This water purifier was designed by my group. We chose to create a solar distiller to purify our water. The purifier used the sun to evaporate the water which condensed on the glass and ran down into a tube. Click here to see more
For the phase change lab my group decided to do a "can crush" experiment. We first heated the can with a blowtorch, and then quickly flipped it quickly into ice water. The heated air quickly escaped into the cold water creating a vacuum which crushed the can. Click on the image to see the lab report.
Exhibition was the final celebration of all that we had learned during the project. We were split into groups of four and allowed to create one unique product that related to the project theme. Our group melted down waste plastic and molded it into fish shaped key rings. On exhibition night we presented our work to our families and showed what we had worked on during the semester.
