Geology 101 is an introduction to geology and the most widely transferable course in the program. It covers the Earth as a dynamic and complex system, including earthquakes, volcanoes, movement of continents, and the Earth’s interior. We will examine plate tectonics and other geologic topics including rock and mineral identification. This class is for all students that live on this planet, but may be particularly helpful to those considering Earth sciences as a career. Geology 101 is also often required for environmental scientists or civil engineers. It covers the basics of geology and includes a smattering of chemistry, physics, and biology, so it would be a good choice for exploring the various STEM fields. This course includes a lab and meets both the Science and Lab Science requirements of the AA-DTA. Register today!
