A large majority of students take the ACT or SAT their spring semester of their sophomore year or fall semester of their junior year. We recommend students take each exam (ACT and SAT) at least once, to see if one exam is a better fit. Many students will take a college admissions test at least twice before applying to college fall semester senior year.

A preliminary version of the SAT
Meant to prepare students for taking the SAT by simulating a shorter version of the exam, exposing students to relevant testing material, and showing students where they need to improve in order to reach their goal score on the SAT.
Junior students who obtain a certain score on the PSAT can qualify for National Merit Scholarships, which can go a long way toward financing your college education.
