Ballachulish figure workshop
Glencoe folk museum
We did a workshop with Parris from Glencoe folk museum. We had small objects that we had to guess what they were, they were quartz, peat, barley seeds and alder wood. It was fun because we got to feel the objects and smell them. We wrote memoirs on the Ballachulish figure, pretending to be her. And we we debating whether she should go back to Glencoe or stay in Edinburgh.
The Ballauch Figure - When I was buried
Today has been awful because today there was a really bad storm and loved ones of the community died so they punished me. How did they punish me? They scratched me and buried me and put a frame of sticks on me so I could not move. It took place in 600 BC. The event took place because the community was angry at me. Years later I saw light, people were digging me up! I saw shovels digging. I heard talking. I felt tapping. I smelt peat and I tasted peat but I had dried out.
