Memorial Music Makers
Mr. Nykiel
Hello Memorial Elementary School students and parents. My name is Mr. Nykiel. I am the K-5 music teacher and director of the Memorial Music Makers.
The following page is primarily designed to provide links to music that students have been practicing in the classroom to work on at home in preparation for various school and community performances. However I will also be loading pictures, information about performances and any forms related to music class, chorus or drum club that have been handed out throughout the year. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to email me at nykiels@highlands.k12.fl.us and I will be sure to respond to any questions within 24 hours Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Student Participation
Each week that your student comes to music class, he/she will receive a daily grade for their level of engagement and participation within the lesson. Student grades will reflect the criteria listed in the rubric below . Your student will receive up to 8 points each week. Students absent from school with an excused absence will receive an excused grade that is not reflected negatively or positively toward their overall grade. Any grade that ends in a total of 70% or higher is considered S for Satisfactory. Any grade that totals below 70% is considered N for Not Satisfactory. Please use the rubric below to allow you to see how your child is graded from week to week. Thank you!
