Mission Statement:
To provide excellent educational opportunities for our young people by working together and striving for high standards and success in all that we do
"LEARN TO SUCCEED"
"Knowledge Experts"
We want all of our students to be provided with the information that enables them to understand and master core subject content and become independent learners. We also want parents to have access to resources that can be used to help support their child's learning at home.
"A knowledge-based curriculum provides an opportunity to ensure all students have access to content that weaves together their inner and outer worlds". (Williams, 2020).
Learning journeys provide students with an overview of the topic they are studying. They should be stuck into books and also uploaded to each Microsoft Teams Class.
This can include information about:
-What is being studied throughout the term/ year
-Cross curricular skills that re being developed
-Which Statement of What Matters is being developed
Knowledge Organisers provide students with a breakdown of the core knowledge they need to know when studying each unit. These can found in some books but all should be uploaded to each Microsoft Teams Class.
This can include information about:
-Key content/concepts/ facts/ figures for that unit
-Skills that are being developed throughout the unit
-Key words that are important for that unit of work
Study Skills are techniques students use to learn efficiently and effectively
They are designed to help students remember and re-call information and improve retention of information. By developing study skills your child should learn to use the strategies that work best for them when revising/ re-calling information
Microsoft Teams for education is a powerful communication app for schools that enhances collaboration and learning.
Every student has a Microsoft 365 account that has the Microsoft Teams App and your child should be a member of a class 'team', for every subject they study.
