Banzai! Financial Literacy Program

Students will Meet the Following Objectives During the ACP Unit Facilitated by Mrs. Restivo.

Students build off their prior knowledge as they fully examine how their likes, learning style, personality style, skills, and interests connect in order to set them up with careers best matched with these strengths. They complete the four step Matchmaker assessment in Xello again as well as four additional lessons to help them recognize and uncover bias and stereotypes, to help them examine what motivates them, and to help them explore extracurricular clubs they can join in order to help them meet their short and long term goals. They will analyze various studying strategies such as time-management, organizational tips, planning, and prioritizing so they can create plans for meeting their goals. They will create a culminating career project to share with their teachers and peers. They will also analyze the life ready skills they posses as well as create plans to enhance the skills they are lacking. We will practice active listening, making eye contact, using nonverbal communication effectively, and study basic interview strategies. They will also work with Junior Achievement lessons focused on Economics and Finance or work collaboratively to create an invention they want to market to their peers. This project will require teamwork and problem solving. Students will also tour a local business to identify the varying roles available, which fall into career clusters matching their interests and strengths.
