Lexia Reading Core5 - An essential component of our reading curriculum and supports our classroom instruction by providing differentiated literacy instruction for students of all abilities and levels. Lexia is a research-proven program that provides explicit, systematic, personalized learning in the six areas of reading instruction, targeting skill gaps as they emerge, and providing teachers with the data and student-specific resources they need for individual or small-group instruction. Students are required to complete unit goals each week. Goals are set based on individual Lexia levels. There are plenty of opportunities for students to work in Lexia at school, but students may need to work on this at home too! Lexiacore5.com
Accelerated Reader: Students will be reading and taking tests on their choice of books within their reading range. Students need 7 pts the first 9 weeks and the following 9 weeks will increase. Stories we read in class and test on will count toward their goals.
IXL - A Math & Language practice website tailored for state and now Common Core standards. Like most practice tools and games, it also generates progress reports on student proficiency for parents and teachers. Time is given in class to work on those standards. Students who struggle may need extra practice outside of school time. An IXL level of 300 means the student is working at beginning 3rd grade levels. IXL.com
XtraMath - XtraMath® helps students transition from counting or calculating the basic math facts to recalling them. Quickly recalling math facts, instead of calculating them, frees up mental resources for higher-level operations.
XtraMath’s timed activities encourage students to answer questions as quickly as possible. When combined with the spaced repetition of problems, this efficiently develops recall. The three-second threshold is carefully selected to be long enough to type in a recalled answer but not long enough for the student to comfortably enter a counted or calculated answer. Students who are struggling with quick math fact recall can use this program at home to strengthen their proficiency. XtraMath.org
