Pathways to the IB Diploma
There are several different paths to the IB Diploma. Ultimately, all students must take six courses - one in each subject area. Of these six courses, three courses must be Higher Level and three courses must be Standard Level. In addition, students must take two years of Theory of Knowledge.
Below are the most common paths to the IB Diploma, but these are not the only paths. Students with unique circumstances should reach out to the IB Coordinator for advice prior to registration.
Generally, students should take the most advanced level of a course offered prior to taking IB. Students pursuing the full diploma MUST take the same World Language all four years of high school.
