Login: Be sure you can login to login.hesston.edu with your Hesston username and password. You will need to use My Hesston as a student instead of a guest or prospective student. Contact helpdesk@hesston.edu if you need assistance.
Email: Monitor your Hesston College email for a message from your advisor. They will give you details about how to schedule a meeting time. Your Hesston email is the primary way you will communicate with your advisor and your professors.
Placement scores: even though your ACT/SAT scores are not needed for admission, these scores are needed for placement in Math and English classes. Be sure to share your scores with your admissions counselor as soon as possible.
Do you have previous college credit? You must send your OFFICIAL college transcripts to HC for any dual credit classes in high school (high school transcript is not sufficient) or previous college semesters. Go to that college's Registrar or Academic Office website and fill out the transcript request form. Have your transcript sent directly to Hesston College. Do not send the transcript to yourself.
Prepare: Use the course schedule, planning documents, and the degree worksheet for your major to begin planning the courses you need and want to take.
Advising Meeting: Your advisor will help enroll you in classes for the fall and spring. Enrollment for new students opens in May and will continue through the summer.

When you meet with your advisor:
Confirm/update your degree, major, and anticipated graduation date.
Plan your schedule for fall AND spring next year.
Remember:
You should be on track to earn enough total credits: 120 credits for a Bachelor's degree and 60 credits for an Associate's degree. (about 15 credits per semester)
You need to plan the required General Education and major-specific courses required for your degree.
You must meet the minimum GPA required for your degree.
If you retake a class to meet a requirement or improve your GPA, the second grade is always the final grade. You may only retake a class one time. If you take a class on Acadeum, that counts as an "attempt."
Come to your advisor meeting with ideas of what classes you need and would like to take.
