Acadeum Enrollment:
You must have a reliable, steady internet connection for the entire length of the class. If you will not have access to reliable internet, do not take an Acadeum class. If you will be studying outside of the US, you may need a VPN to access the course.
1. Create your profile. (See directions below - there are 4 steps!)
2. Meet with your advisor and request appropriate courses.
3. Email registrar@hesston.edu to finalize enrollment.
You will be notified by email when your enrollment is accepted. Refer back to Acadeum for welcome information from the teaching institution. Read all the information carefully!
Contact registrar@hesston.edu for any enrollment changes (drop or withdrawal).
Remember that you may be given an email address from the other school. If that happens, use their email address to communicate with the professor!
Success in an Acadeum class requires planning ahead!
The student is responsible for:
Knowing the start/end dates of the course and when assignments are due.
Checking your email daily for messages from the Acadeum professor. You may be given an email from that school to use.
Making sure you can login to the course page, textbook, and materials and have reliable internet.
Submitting all assignments on time, even over Hesston College breaks
Contacting the professor, your advisor, or registrar@hesston.edu IMMEDIATELY if you have an issue.
If you have questions, you must allow the professor at least 24 hours to respond. If you email the professor shortly before an assignment is due, it is too late to reasonably receive help.
During a fall or spring term: The online fee is $250 per credit hour
A 3-credit class will be $750
During a winter or summer term: Online tuition during an optional term is $420 per credit hour.
A 3-credit class will be $1260
If you choose to drop a course within the drop window, you will not be charged for the course. If you stay enrolled past the drop date, you will be charged even if you withdraw before the end of the course.
Acadeum courses are considered "local" courses just like the classes you attend on campus.
Acadeum courses will be added to your Hesston College schedule.
Acadeum final grades will be on your Hesston College transcript. You do not need to request a transcript.
Acadeum grades are factored into your Hesston GPA. This can be a great way to replace a low grade and improve your GPA.
Acadeum courses count as an "attempt": You have only two attempts to pass a Hesston College class. An Acadeum course counts as one of those chances.
The grade of your second attempt will be the grade on your transcript, even if it is lower than your first attempt.
If you do not pass a class after two attempts, you may not retake the class at Hesston or on Acadeum.
Re-read the welcome details you received by email - you will have information about your login, password, and who to contact with issues.
Check your syllabus carefully. Contact your professor directly. Allow at least 24 hours for the professor to reply. If you wait to ask a question until the submission time, it is too late to reasonably receive help.
Contact registrar@hesston.edu. The registrar is the official Acadeum manager for Hesston College and can communicate directly with the professor or other school official if needed. Your advisor can also assist with questions or concerns about the class.
You may request a free Hesston tutor for your Acadaeum class if it is equivalent to a course offered on campus. (fall and spring only)

Acadeum is a consortium of colleges and universities that have agreed to share seats in online classes.
If you enroll in an Acadeum class, you will be taught by a professor on a different campus. You will access the course on the other college's LMS (Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.). You might receive an email address from that college. Your classmates are likely to attend many different colleges.
Acadeum courses are pre-screened by Hesston College professors and the Registrar's Office to make sure that they align with Hesston College course outcomes.
You can use Acadeum to take general education courses, courses required for your major, and electives.
Depending on the type of course you want to take, you may have the option to take a 4-week, 8-week, or 16-week course. Shorter classes will be more intense - there will be fewer day to between due dates and longer reading assignments.
