The Early College Academy (ECA) is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for your student to complete college-level courses while in high school. In collaboration with Victor Valley College (VVC), Hesperia High School (HHS) has designed this program to help HHS students get a head start on their college education by taking college classes during the regular school day.
Students who are a part of ECA are a part of a cohort. It is designed as a 3 year program with students starting in 10th grade and continuing into their Junior and Senior year. There are only 30 spots per cohort. Students must apply to be considered for ECA during the application window.
The program is free with absolutely no cost to students. Students can potentially earn up to 40 college credits during the three years. Most college credit earned through the program can be applied toward earning an AA/AS degree at VVC or be transferred to a university.
Non-CCAP is where students enroll in community college courses offered at the college campus or online with the approval of their high school. Students are limited to a mix of 11 units for Fall/Spring and 8 units for Summer/Winter.
Students are responsible to pay for their textbooks and supplies for Non-CCAP courses. There may be additional enrollment fees such as ASB cards. Students must submit an official transcript to HHS for non-CCAP courses to be added to their high school transcript.
Students who are interested in taking Non-CCAP courses can request an appointment for support selecting classes here. This request does not register students in classes. Click Here
Students must drop themselves in their MyVVC Self Service account where they registered for classes. Students will receive final grade if they miss THE DROP DATE DEADLINE, even if they stop attending the class or completing work. All final VVC grades are posted to high school transcripts and can affect high school GPA and financial aid after high school
