My goal is to reduce busy work and increase meaningful, rigorous work that is valuable.

• Expect my students to learn at high levels to prepare them for college and career readiness.
• Support my students so they can learn at higher levels and so they feel confident and autonomous.
• Cheer on as they demonstrate learning at high levels so they see the value in what they are working on.

Why?

I learned a lot about myself as a classroom manager this year. There are routines, rules, and expectations that I was unable to be consistent about because I was learning along the way. Next year I wish to:

• Construct a management plan for the classroom to create structure, promotes consistency, and provides security for students.
• Create a classroom with effective management plans, students are comfortable, relaxed, focused, eager to learn, and excited about achieving success.
• Allow students to feel responsible because they know and can easily follow the structure and organization of the class. Thus, they are engaged and focused on learning.

• Meeting with mentor teacher and PLC group to discuss teaching practices
• Regular self-evaluation of instructional practices
• Student evaluations and assessment to assess my teaching efficiency
• Student self-evaluations to inform on my teaching pace and to guide instruction
