The Resource Curse

Having many natural resources in one's country may sound nice but really, it may be a curse. A country may depend on its natural resources, usually for money reasons, but when the price goes down the area suffers. A country or any area may focus on selling one natural resource which they probably get a lot of business from, they will not focus on selling other resources.

One example is oil, oil is one natural resource that is used in so many products, it would sell a lot and attract a lot of business which is why oil is one of the resources that country leaders would depend on for business. Also, people lack jobs because the leaders of the country do not pay them enough for jobs. This is another problem because if many people lack jobs then they can not use the resources they earn by working to take care of their family's or their needs.
