What are natural resources?

Natural resources are part of the world around us. We depend on natural resources. We use many natural resources to make things we use everyday!

Natural resources are found both in and on earth. There are two different types of natural resources, renewable and nonrenewable. Renewable resources are natural resources that can be naturally replaced and can never run out if they are not misused, such as crops. New crops can grow from the seeds produced from the old crops.

Nonrenewable resources natural resources that can run out such as gold and minerals. When you mine gold it doesn't come back. A natural resource can also be nonrenewable because it takes a very long time for nature to make and it is used faster than it is made, such as oil. It takes hundreds of thousands of years for oil to be made. Nonrenewable is the opposite of renewable.
