Today we will continue learning about what makes a career. This time we will focus on Work / Life Balance and Benefits.


Learning Goals:

  • Understand the concept of work/life balance.

  • Understand how you will divide your time.

  • Understand the importance of benefits at work.

Part 1 - Review from the last class - If I am absent this will be time to get organized for the lesson.

Part 2 - Google Slides - We will review the slides and complete a work-life balance analysis based on our own lives.

Part 3 - Review Work-Life Balance Articles - We will explore how employers improve the lives of their employees and as a result can improve their work-life balance. We will highlight the most important concepts and then explore them in our own post-secondary planning.

Part 4 - Complete the reflection questions at the end of the slides.

Part 3 - Future Lifestyle Worksheet - We will likely not be using the colour coding system for this task (unless you have software that will work). Instead, we will use a numbering system where 1 = not really important, 2 = somewhat important, 3 = Really important.
