Transport for Wales is working on the South Wales Metro by installing new electric wires above the railway between Caerphilly and Rhymney.
Once switched on, these wires will carry 25,000 volts of electricity. This is extremely dangerous. You do not need to touch the wires to get hurt, as electricity can jump up to 3 metres through the air.
Please stay well away from the railway, and never go onto the tracks or near the fences. Trains may also be running at unexpected times while testing takes place, even if they’re not shown on timetables.
The attached letter from Transport for Wales contains the full information, so please take the time to read it.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is a shared responsibility. Anyone who interacts with children, their families, and carers plays a crucial role in safeguarding. School staff are especially vital, as they can detect concerns early and assist children in preventing issues from escalating. Every member of school staff has a duty to create a safe environment where children can learn.
For any safeguarding queries or concerns, please call us on 01443 875531 or email us at HeoldduComprehensive@sch.caerphilly.gov.uk.
