Forensics Club is a club designed to give students an opportunity to be competitive in public speaking events. Think of it as a competitive speech team--just like track and field, only with speech and debate activities. Forensics students choose from a variety of speech and drama events to prepare and take to competitions at area schools. Events include persuasive and informative speaking, individual and duet acting, storytelling, and debate activities. Forensics is both a club and a team, and students who enroll are starting a tradition of excellence. It's a great time to be joining Hornets Forensics!
Participating in forensics won't just make you a better speaker, it will make you a better thinker, reader, writer, performer, and person. Forensics will help you make friends and it looks great on a college application and resume.
Both! Starting out, we will be competing against each other. But later on, once we get other schools involved, we'll be competing as a team.
Sort of. While there may be opportunities to perform in front of an audience, most of the time we will usually compete in front of 1-3 adult judges.
These are in the planning--stay tuned

Maybe competing against _______?
We are looking for up and coming talent here at Hampton. Dates and times of meetings will be announced soon. But if you are involved with other clubs/sports, that's OK. We will arrange times for those who still want to be involved. Plus, bring something to perform for us. We believe that "iron sharpens iron": it's good practice in a non-threatening environment, and our team members are willing to offer great insights and constructive criticism to make you a better speaker. Stop by Room 121 for more information.
