Our robotics club is currently full for the 2025 - 26 school year and is not accepting any more applications at this time.

About Our Club

The Impact Academy Middle School robotics club is a competitive robotics program made up of 7th and 8th grade students who want to dive deeper into the world of robotics. Using VEX IQ robotic equipment, students will work as a team made up of 3-4 students to design, build, and program a robot in order to meet specific requirements for competition. Students will then take their robot to two VEX IQ competitions where they will compete with other local robotics teams for a chance to advance to state and world events. We meet most every Tuesday and Thursday after school until 4:30pm starting mid August through the beginning of February.

Participation

Due to limited space and robotics equipment, we are only able to accept approximately 16 - 20 students for participation in our robotics club. If there are more students interested in joining this club than we can accept, participation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to prior participation, teacher recommendations, behavior, and/or academic performance. Interested students should see Mrs. Garrison at Open House at the beginning of the school year.

• Students accepted into the robotics club are expected to attend all robotics meetings each week and to participate in two competitions.

• Participation in this club is not mandatory and is a privilege, and therefore can be revoked at any time due to attendance issues, misbehavior, or other factors. If a student is not successful in our robotics club and is asked to discontinue participation, parents will not receive a refund for club dues. 

Cost

$60 per student (mandatory)

This cost will cover local competition fees, registration fees, and equipment costs, as well as an Impact Academy Robotics Tshirt.

• If a team advances to state and/or world competitions, additional fees will be associated with participation in these additional competitions.

• Consideration will be provided for anyone facing difficult financial situations or hardships.
