There are typically three paths to pursue when it comes to the Capstone process:
Students may do Capstone projects individually, particularly if there is not a current pathway or specialty offered that meets their interests! Our desire is for every student to find a place to belong and feel connected in this building, but we also honor that some students enjoy doing their own thing.
They might work individually in their Directed Study, Study Hall, Specialty, or general classes.
These are advisories for teams of students with common interests. They are facilitated by an adviser. Students may work as a team, small group, or individual within these specialties.
Students may be enrolled in a CTAE, Fine Arts, or World Language pathway. Typically, they do a large culminating portfolio, performance, or project that also serves as their Capstone project.
Some examples of these include but are not limited to:
1) International Skills Diploma Seal
2) Fine Arts Diploma Seal
3) SAE Projects
*Note: This is a great option since students can essentially "double dip" their workload for their pathway with their Capstone project! It's a 2-in-1 deal.
Talk to your pathway teacher about how work in their pathway can also serve as your Capstone!
